How the massage works
During a ninety-minute maternal massage the therapist focuses on adapting pressure, pace, and positioning to the client's pregnancy stage and comfort. Communication guides the session: you’ll be asked about areas of tension and tolerance for pressure so the treatment is tailored within safe limits rather than following a one-size-fits-all routine.
Massage can relieve muscle tension and improve circulation in areas commonly strained during pregnancy, which may reduce back pain and promote more restful sleep. Clinical and experiential evidence suggest massage can decrease production of stress-related hormones, although outcomes vary between individuals and are not guaranteed.
Safety and medical guidance
Ask your doctor prior to receiving any massage treatment; we recommend maternal massage only after the first trimester unless your physician advises otherwise. Before booking, notify us of any pregnancy complications, medications, or recent medical advice so the therapist can plan a session that respects those constraints.
Communicate openly about current symptoms such as swelling, dizziness, or pain and mention any prior pregnancy concerns. While maternal massage can be restorative, it is not a substitute for medical care; follow your provider’s guidance and bring any doctor's notes to the appointment if recommended.
